NEW BLOG!!! ESTILO CHRONICLES

OK, so we finally jumped into the social media bandwagon!

I have been busy this past week setting up our new Facebook Fan page, and our Twitter account.  In addition to this, I am starting a new Tumblr blog so our readers can follow us easier via Tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter.

So, without further ado, we are introducing the Estilo Chronicles

In addition to blogging about noteworthy wedding trends and events, Estilo Chronicles will be a journal of other things, ideas, and opinions I would like to share with you - like my current fashion obsession, great restaurants I’ve been to, or books that I’m reading. I hope you like it:)

ESTILO SCOOP: Style Me Pretty Creator Picks Estilo Weddings!

Yesterday, as I was going through my daily emails, I got an “alert” from Google Alerts telling me that someone blogged about Estilo Weddings

To my surprise, it was from an interview that Style Me Pretty Creator, Abby Larson, did with Completely Unveiled, the Weddings Unveiled Blog.  She was asked what her favorite online shopping resources are for brides, and she picked Estilo Weddings as a great resource for wedding favors and details!

I am still in disbelief that Abby Larson picked Estilo Weddings as one of her favorites, considering the thousands of wedding stores out there!  It really is an honor!  Thanks Abby!

Below is an excerpt from the interview:

WU: What are some of your favorite online shopping and resource sites for brides?

AL: Piperlime and Zappos are great resources to find the perfect shoe. Bluefly is fabulous for finding mismatched but adorable bridesmaid dresses (my new favorite trend). Franklin + Gower is the coolest spot to find custom groom and groomsmen attire. I heart Franklin + Gower a lot. Crate and Barrel is a registry must-have as they make the online portion so easy. Minted sells a gorgeous collection of luxury invitations and paper goods.  Estilo Weddings has a great selection of wedding favors and details. We love Jamali Garden for vases and interesting vessels. There are so many great online finds. We could probably plan an entire wedding without leaving our sofa!

ARTICLES AND TIPS: WEDDING TRENDS OF 2010

Welcome to the Wedding Season of 2010!

I have been busy spotting this year’s wedding trends so I figured; it’s probably just fitting to start this year’s blog with…The Wedding Trends of 2010.

1.  Black.  Everything, from wedding flowers (think black and white anemones), bridesmaids’ dresses, wedding invitations, and wedding gown trimmings. And why not?  This color is so versatile that you can go from classic to modern.

2.  Short Wedding Dress.  We have been seeing this trend for a while now.  And I think brides are starting to really embrace this idea, which is why I think this trend is here to stay.

3.  Lace.  And I don’t mean just on your wedding dress.  Think of incorporating lace in other aspects of your wedding such as favor packaging, invitations, napkin rings…  You get the idea.

4.  Pearls.  Pearl jewelry today are modern and edgy.  Pearls come in different colors and jewelery designers now are also incoporating them with colorful gemstones to make a bold statement. And don’t just think necklace, you can also wear pearl as a bracelet, cocktail ring, or earrings.

5. Orange.  Last year’s big color was purple.  And according to “trendspotters,” this year’s big fashion color is ORANGE.  Since today’s brides are also fashionistas, expect to see a lot of this color in this year’s wedding accessories.

ESTILO SCOOP: NEW!!! Estilo Weddings + DK Designs Hawaii Wedding Collection

Welcome to the 2010 Wedding Season!

Ready?  Drum roll pease…

Estilo Weddings has teamed up with DK Designs Hawaii, and together, we’ve developed a one-of-a-kind line of Wedding Accessories that is modern and elegant.  Most of the products are sold exclusively through Estilo Weddings

We are so happy to be working with Diane at DK Designs.  She is famous for her exquisite handcrafted lifelike clay flowers.  She has been featured on The Martha Stewart Show and her work has been featured in numerous magazines and publications.

We, at Estilo Weddings, look forward to working with her and developing more creative products to offer you.
